G.H. Mumm is one of Champagne's most iconic houses, founded in 1827 by the Mumm brothers in Reims . The house is renowned for its signature red sash (Cordon Rouge), introduced in 1876 as a tribute to the Légion d'Honneur, France's highest civilian award . Since 2005, the house has been part of the Pernod-Ricard group and owns 218 hectares of vineyards spread across eight grands crus . Pinot Noir is the house's emblematic grape, prized for its power and elegant fruit, to which Chardonnay and Meunier add floral and fruity notes . The Cordon Rouge is the signature cuvée of the house, blended from more than 120 villages across the Champagne region .
