Description

Domaine Introduction:
Dom Pérignon is arguably the most iconic prestige Champagne in the world, named after the 17th-century Benedictine monk Dom Pierre Pérignon, a quality pioneer in Champagne production . The first vintage of Dom Pérignon was the 1921, released in 1936, marking it as the first prestige cuvée on the market . Now owned by LVMH, the house is guided by Chef de Cave Richard Geoffroy (since 1990), who alone decides whether to declare a vintage. Made only in the finest years, each Dom Pérignon is unique, showcasing a "perfect balance of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes" . The 2003 vintage was an extreme, torrid year across northern Europe, yet Geoffroy embraced the challenge, creating a bold and atypical Champagne .
