Château Lascombes 2016 is a powerful and elegant Margaux that exemplifies the quality of this great vintage. The nose offers intense aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, and Black Forest cake, layered with candied violets, menthol, underbrush, cloves, and pencil lead . On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins and good intensity . The finish is long and perfumed, with a seamless, plush elegance that has been praised for its purity and finesse . This is a stunning wine that is already approachable but will continue to evolve gracefully over the next two decades .
Critical Acclaim:

94/100 – Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Domaine Introduction:
Château Lascombes is a prestigious Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) estate in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, located in the Margaux appellation . The estate takes its name from Chevalier de Lascombes, who acquired the property in the 17th century . The 118-hectare vineyard is one of the largest in the Médoc, with plots spread across the Margaux appellation on gravel, clay and sand soils . The estate underwent significant investment and modernisation, particularly under the ownership of MACSF since 2011, leading to a notable renaissance in quality . The 2016 vintage in Bordeaux was widely acclaimed as one of the greatest in recent history, producing wines of remarkable depth, concentration, and balance.
