Description

Domaine Introduction:
Domaine Jayer-Gilles is a highly respected estate based in Magny-lès-Villers, between the Hautes Côtes de Nuits and Hautes Côtes de Beaune appellations. The domaine spans approximately 11 hectares and is known for crafting wines with meticulous care—grapes are completely destemmed, fermented with native yeasts in cement vats, and aged for approximately 18 months in new oak barrels without racking, fining, or filtration. The estate also produces premier cru and village-level wines from Nuits-Saint-Georges, but its Hautes Côtes de Nuits offerings have earned particular praise. The 2011 vintage in Burgundy produced wines with a beautiful balance between ripe fruit, freshness, and approachable tannins, reflecting a classic, slightly cooler year.
