Description

Winery Introduction:
-Chateau Beaucaillou was part of Chateau Beychevelle in the mid-to-late 17th century. Classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 classification, it gets its name "Beaucaillou" from its gravelly soil, meaning "beautiful little stones."
-This winery has been owned by the Monique Lochte-Borie family for over 250 years. In 1976, she took over the winery from her mother, and in 2003, she transferred it to her son, Bruno-Eugène Borie (a Super Second Growth – owner of Chateau Beaucaillou). Chateau Beaucaillou wines are aged for 12 months, with 20% in new oak barrels and the remaining 80% in one-year-old oak barrels.
