Description

Winery Introduction: Côtes de Bordeaux is a treasure trove of authentic Bordeaux wines, especially in the hands of talented viticulturists like Carine and Frank Richard. While its clay-limestone soils are similar to those of neighboring Castillon, the vineyards of Côtes de Bordeaux are situated at a higher altitude (107-127 meters), which helps maintain the freshness of the wines. Furthermore, due to the influence of local air currents, the area receives one of the lowest rainfalls in the region, allowing the Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen properly. In 1998, Frank and his wife took over the winery and immediately began organic farming, obtaining organic certification in the 2010 vintage. Most of the vines inherited from the previous generation are still kept at the winery, with an average age of 45 years, a feat that would put many classified growths to shame. The winemaking and aging processes are designed to be gentle, aiming to produce a pure wine that fully expresses the fresh character of the terroir.
