Description

Winery Introduction: To produce orange wine, all solid parts of the grapes (seeds, skins, and stems) are macerated. Components from the skins and stems release pigments and tannins, giving the wine its unique golden-orange hue. This whole-cluster maceration is typical of orange wine. As early as 4,500 years ago, Georgians fermented white grapes by burying them in earthenware containers in the ground. These large clay vessels, locally called "KVEVRIS," were particularly well-suited for aging wine. This winemaking method continues throughout the region, including Armenia and Azerbaijan.
